Breaking Question of the Day~04/15/2011

I am a very happy man. My wonderful girlfriend and I had been dating 4 over a year, and so we decided to get married. There was only one little thing bothering me…It was her beautiful younger sister. My prospective sister-in-law is twenty-two, wore very tight miniskirts, n generally was bra-less. She would delibrately bend down when she is near me, and I always get more than a nice view. One day, she called and asked me to come over to check the wedding invitations. She was alone when I arrived, and she whispered to me that she had feelings and desires for me that she couldn’t overcome. She told me that she wanted me just once before I got married and committed my life to her sister. Well, I was in total shock, and couldn’t say a word. She said, ‘I’m going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want one last wild fling, just come up and get me.’I was stunned and frozen in shock as I watched her go up the stairs. I stood there for a moment, then turned and made a beeline straight to the front door. I opened the door, and headed straight towards my car. Lo and behold, my entire future family was standing outside, all clapping! With tears in his eyes, my father-in-law hugged me and said, ‘We are very happy that you have passed our little test. We couldn’t ask for a better man for our daughter. Welcome to the family.Guys always keep your condoms in your car, because I was on my way to fetch them when I passed the test.BREAKING QUESTION OF THE DAY…What will you call it? Destiny, Luck or fate?

Here we go again…with the SISTER!

First of all, you can call it DESTINY, you can call it FATE, AND you can call it LUCK but, it is ONLY actually a good thing in any of these situations if you are truly happy, in love with your girlfriend, and committed to your life with her. We are all human and we are all presented with our trials and temptations throughout our lives. Only you can decide if it was fate, destiny, luck OR providence that kept you on the right path. It will depend on your own perceptions of the world.

Now, we use fate and destiny often times as interchangeable words but they are actually slightly different.

FATE, is an outcome or final result or consequence often seen as inevitable and sometimes as unfavorable. (This one sounds negative.)

DESTINY, is a predetermined course of events brought about throughout a life that are often beyond your power or control but are seen as something meant to be and necessary. (This one sounds positive.)

LUCK, is the chance or random occurrence of either fortunate or adverse events but we usually see it as good fortune.

and

PROVIDENCE, is the care and guardianship of divine direction.

I think that you could say that in this instance he was very LUCKY because he passed the test while he was the only one who ever knew he might have faltered. Certainly if his “wife to be” knew that she might not think he was such a stellar guy after all especially since the “fling” in question was with her SISTER!! However, we are all met with temptations in life and sometimes we think we may succumb to them and sometimes we really don’t know until it comes right down to it.  Sometimes it doesn’t even occur to us that we will and in a moment of weakness we accept and destroy everything we have built or worked for or earned for ourselves up until that point.

I think that fate, luck and destiny can all be very closely tied.

However, it is MY belief in this story, that he actually is a good guy and maybe for a moment was tempted but, would have made the right choice anyway SO it was PROVIDENCE that moved events the way they went so that he could see and understand what a precipice he may have just fallen off of.  As a result, he would feel fortunate and blessed and maybe even appreciate the family and his “wife” even more.

I believe everything happens for a reason. Things that are meant to be will be. Sometimes this involves fate, sometimes it is destiny, sometimes it is purely lucky and sometimes it is the hand of GOD reaching into your life and giving you the perspective you need to cherish the place you are in.

All we need to do is be open to the signs, have an open mind and an open heart.
